Warranty & Repair Policy
Prestige Shopping Ghana (“Company”) warrants to the purchaser (“Customer”) of any Product bought from us that we will provide free repairs for any defective part(s). If, upon inspection by the Company or an Authorized Technician, the defect is found to be due to faulty materials or workmanship, the repairs will be carried out at no cost to the Customer.
The Company shall provide Customers with a limited warranty on service and labor for the duration set forth in the Agreement, beginning on the date of completion of services against defects in the quality of workmanship and/or product (“Warranty Period”). The Company shall provide warranty period services, free of cost through its authorized technician during the respective warranty periods of 12 months comprehensive warranty from the date of purchase on all parts except front panel and plastic parts and, thereafter 60 months (5 years) additional warranty on the compressor subject to company policies. This warranty covers only repairs and does not entitle the Customer for replacement of the Product including but not limited to free replacements of cabinets and styling materials aesthetic material frames, plastic parts & accessories.
The Company shall not be liable during or following the Warranty Period for any: (a) damage due to ordinary wear and tear or abusive use; (b) damage due to use of the equipment beyond the manufacturer instructions; (c) defects that are the result of characteristics common to the materials used; (d) loss, injury or damages caused in any way by the weather elements; (e) conditions resulting from condensation on, or expansion or contraction or, any materials; (f) any water leak, blockage, freezing, or other malfunction of condensate or drain lines; and/or (g) air leaks arising from structural deficiencies within existing supply/return pipes or ducts or transitions.
This limited warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, statutory or otherwise, express, or implied, all representations made by Company, and all other obligations or liabilities respective of the Services provided at the Property. Company disclaims all other warranties, express or implied, including without limitation any implied warranty of workmanlike construction, implied warranty of habitability, implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose or use, and/or implied warranty of merchantability. Under no circumstances shall Company be liable to Customer for loss of time, loss of use, inconvenience, or any other incidental or consequential damages that may arise from this Agreement. Unauthorized repairs or attempted repairs shall void this warranty entirely.
The warranty only remains in effect if you adhere to its terms and conditions.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE WARRANTY
This warranty shall be deemed to have been issued in Ghana and courts of the Republic of Ghana shall have exclusive jurisdiction on matters covered by or following from this warranty, and the original purchaser alone shall have cause of action arising out of the transaction.
1.Owner’s Responsibility within the Warranty Period
a. Cleaning of the Air Filters (Recommended a minimum of every 3 months, dependent on use)
b. Operating and Maintaining the equipment in accordance with the operating instructions
c. Replacement of remote Batteries
d. Ensuring the Outdoor unit has nothing obstructing air flow
c. Ensuring condensate drain is kept clear and clean (Arranging Professional Servicing recommended a minimum of every 3 months, dependent on use)
d. Application of additional Corrosion protection if the equipment is installed in a corrosive environment (sea air, industrial pollution)
e. Is able to provide a Proof of Purchase (Purchase Invoice/Receipt) on the request of any Warranty works to be completed
2. Situations in which the air conditioner is not covered under warranty:
Manufacturer defect warranty will not cater if your AC breakdown was caused by:
Failure to comply with the operating rules described in the user manual.
Voltage jumps in the mains. If any component fails due to abnormal power supply either through Lightning or power surge that damages electrical components
c. The presence of mechanical damage.
d. Any damage caused due to natural disasters such as fire, vermin, storm, flood, accident, fire, earthquake, corrosion, rodents, negligence, abuse or misuse, electrical surges.
e. Penetration into the air conditioner of various objects, insects, animals, liquids, other substances.
f. Defects arising due to environment such as polluted or corrosive atmosphere.
g. Improper & incorrect use of equipment (e.g. domestic commercial air conditioner) or wrong settings selected, temperature set too low causing condensate drips
h. Blockage of heat exchangers, filters or drain pipe due to natural causes or careless handling.
i. Damage to warranty seals, repairs, poor-quality installation and other work performed by people unauthorized by Air Conditioners Ghana.
j. At any time, during the warranty period if the serial number of the unit or any part of the unit is tampered with, damaged, defaced, altered, repaired for any reason whatsoever or serviced by any unauthorized person, not being the authorized representative of the company or its authorized dealers
k. Negligence: If you don’t take basic steps to maintain your system, such as changing your filter and getting routine maintenance, your AC could break down prematurely.
l. Any loss of refrigerant caused due to sabotage, improper handling or treatment, carelessness, accident, fire, flood earthquake or any natural calamity any corrosive action on the original refrigerant pipes, fittings, valves etc for whatever reasons, shall not be covered under this warranty.
m. The unit is moved from its original place of installation or re-installation
Warranty does not cover plastic parts of the Air Conditioner.
Damage to the product or any part/s due to transportation or shifting or mishandling is not covered under Warranty
Any modifications or alterations are made in the wiring or connections of the unit.
3.0 Warranty shall be valid only for the said period of 12 months comprehensive warranty from the date of purchase on all parts except front panel and plastic parts and, thereafter 60 months (5 years) additional warranty on the compressor as specified above, irrespective of whether the said unit has been in use or not for any reason whatsoever, or the unit is moved from one location to another.
These additional policies shall apply:
Warranty does not cover accessories external to the equipment.
This warranty is confined to the first purchaser of the product only.
Repair or replacement will be carried out through the Company’s Service Centres or its Authorized Service Providers only.
This warranty shall stand automatically terminated in the event of the said unit being serviced, repaired, installed, de-installed, re-installed or otherwise attended to by any person or organization or agency or by the said purchaser himself other than the authorized representative of the company or its authorized service providers.
The AC is designed to operate at a range of (230V +/- 10%). Any failure due to operation of the machine beyond these limits will not be covered by the above warranty. The Customer shall ensure that a voltage stabilizer is installed in those areas where voltage is not available within the warranty range (230V +/- 10%). The stabilizer should be of any reputed manufacturer. However, voltage stabilizing equipment is not covered under this Warranty.
The Purchaser should preserve the original invoice (Receipt) and Warranty Certificate Card for necessary verification and should produce it at the time of service.
None of the employees and /or Authorized Dealers of the Company have any authority whatsoever to vary the terms and conditions of this warranty.
Existing Pipping
The Company is not responsible for the condition of any existing condensate or refrigerant pipes that is not readily accessible. Customer is responsible for any additional costs incurred if pressure testing is required to identify leaks and necessary repairs.
Paint, Patchwork, and Repairs
The Company is not responsible for any painting, patchwork, or repair work that may be required following modification/installation work during the warranty period.
Personal Property
The Company is not responsible for damage to Customer’s personal property left in or near the project area during the warranty period.
REPAIR POLICY
In exception of regular servicing of your AC, Air Conditioners Ghana will repair or replace, without charge, any defects due to faulty materials or workmanship within the warranty period from the date of purchase.
If an item is faulty, it is our aim to get the problem fixed as quickly as possible. We may offer a repair or replace the faulty part.
Initially we will try to troubleshoot any faults with the AC unit, or we may refer you to the manufacturer directly as they will offer technical assistance for faults and/or carry out the warranty repair services directly themselves. If the product is to be repaired, and the manufacturer has provided a helpline, repair service or warranty form, please contact the manufacturer directly. If you require assistance with locating the manufacturer or their contact details, please contact us.
If there is no such manufacturer service with the product, in most instances we will either offer a repair or where this is not possible, we will replace the item with the same or an equivalent model. All goods are tested before repairs are carried out or replacements are sent out and you will be liable for costs incurred if the goods are deemed not to be faulty or have not been used in accordance with the manufacturer’s warranty guidelines.
