It also has a neon power indicator lamp and heating indicator lamp that indicates the ongoing heating process. In case the temperature exceeds the highest preset water temperature, the thermal cut-out automatically cuts off the power supply, to assure safety. In case, the thermostat & thermal cut-out fails, the fusible plug melts, releasing hot water and drains it out from the vent pipe in the form of steam, thereby avoiding untoward accidents. If the water pressure exceeds the preset limits, its pressure relief valve relieves pressure and discharges water to protect the water heater from any damage.
